Mixx Assignment 3

The first thing I did was combine two songs together. I pressed the sync button on both sides of the mixers then I recorded it. A DJ might use this to combine to songs to make an even better song. They can make their own song by combing two songs already made.

Mixx Assignment 2 Loops

       Today I learned how to make loops in a song. Loops are when you make a part of a song repeat, which is usually used in electronic or dance music. I made my song loop by picking a part of the song I would like to loop. I then press one of the numbers 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16. When you press on of the numbers they will go on until the loop finishes and when it finishes it will go back to create a repeat affect. That is how I did my assignment.

            Mixx is the perfect thing to use if you are an inspiring DJ. I learned how to use it after a while. At first it was very confusing but, after a while I got the hang of it. I learned that on Mixx you can combined 2 songs and create your own. You can also slow down and even fast down the paste of the song too. You can make your own beats on Mixx also. Mixx was difficult at first but, now I find it easy to use and useful.

          I recently downloaded Mixx DJ Software. I downloaded it for free. At first it is'nt easy to use. It is very confusing at first because there are so many buttons and stuff. It very different from what I am used to like iTunes and such. I am hoping to make some of my own beats while using this and maybe even some songs.

What is Banshee?

2. Who started this project and when? How many people currently contribute to it? How much does it cost?

- It was started by Aaron Bockover in early 2OO5. Currently about 3OO people contribute to the website including Aaron. Banshee is free. 

3. What operating system can does Banshee work on? Which operating systems does iTunes work on (only two)? 

- Banshee runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Fedora and etc. 
- iTunes runs on Windows XP, Vista and etc.
4. Download Banshee, does it take longer or less time than iTunes to download? 
- Banshee actually downloads a lot quicker than iTunes. 
5. Import the music you have on iTunes to Banshee. How do you do this? Do all the songs play?
- You go to media on the Banshee media player at the top left corner, you click on import media, then click on the iTunes media folder, then click choose folders and your done. 
- None of then songs play.
6. Does this play in iTunes or Banshee or both?
- It only plays on Banshee.
7. Name 3 that are the same in Banshee and iTunes.
- You can download music to them.
- They both play music.
- Both free to download. 
8. Name 3 things different from Banshee and iTunes.
- Banshee doesn't have it's own store.
- Banshee has audio books.
- iTunes has Genius. 
9. Which do you like better? 
- I actually like iTunes better.
